Saturday's Lake District Pictures

Our first stop after a long journey was Brockhole at Windermere.

Windermere from Brockhole.

A close up of the Swan.

Then on to Keswick where we are staying, this is the Saturday market surrounding Moot Hall.

An afternoon walk down to Friar's Crag looking out over Derwent Water.
Sunday's Lake District Pictures

Setting out for a walk at Loweswater, we had planned to climb Carling Knott, but it was in the cloud and I don't think there is a path to follow.

Looking down toward Crummock Water (which you can just see in the Distance) from Holme Wood.

Somewhere to take in the magnificent view.... on a clear day!

Spring Snowdrops were everywhere.

What a difference a little sun makes - Loweswater from Hudson Place.

By the side of Loweswater.

And back to the car.
Monday's Lake District Pictures
Our first stop today was at Grasmere to stock up on Sarah Nelson's excellent Grasmere Gingerbread.

Paula's looking very pleased with herself.

St Oswald's Church at Grasmere.

The final resting place for the poet William Wordsworth.

A Grasmerian Duck!

Tuesday's Lake District Pictures

Today's walk is to High Seat from Keswick. This is looking down on Derwent Water from Walla Crag.

Ascending into the cloud base.

Molly with our 9 year old dog Tilly.

On the top of Bleaberry Fell.

The going was very muddy with patches of snow.

Time for chocolate covered Kendal Mint Cake on top of High Seat.

It was the first time I have had to use my compass (to find the path down)... Hopefully the red needle points North!

Fortunately red does point North so we broke cloud at Ashness Fell, this is looking down Barrow Beck to Ashness Bridge with Derwent Water behind. ![]()

This must be one of the most photographed views in the Lake District, it is of course Ashness Bridge.

We caught the last launch back to Keswick from Barrow Bay

The next stop was at Lodore.
