English Lake District Daily Briefing for Wednesday 29th October 2008

Updated on Tuesday at 11.40am (from Ambleside)

As I am on holiday in the Lakes I am just including my own photo's. I don't have wireless access so I am afraid updates wont be daily.

Saturday's Lake District Pictures

As no doubt you heard on the national news it is exceptionally wet in the lakes, the Mountain Marathon was abandoned due to the bad weather and many roads were flooded, we had difficulty getting to Troutbeck where we are staying.

The weather was better on Sunday so we set off for a walk up the Langdale Pikes with our friends who we are on holiday with.

Jack's Rake running from top-left to bottom-right, notice the walker in red just about to start the climb. We had intended to break into two parties with the more confident walks climbing up the Rake, however the gusts of wind were so strong we decided against it.
