Fury over tree-felling at Thirlmere
The Cumberland News - 23 Mar 2008

United Utilities has been clearing 114 acres of conifers and non-native trees from around the Thirlmere reservoir and replacing them with species indigenous to the area to improve views around the beauty spot. But locals in the area have criticised the project saying it looks like it has been devastated by a hurricane.
